PTPTN: When and How to Apply?
With the release of UPU/IPTA 2011/2012 intake results for STPM-leavers on July 15 (Friday) students will usually ask when and how to apply the government education loan, Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional (PTPTN).When to Apply PTPTN
Should you apply PTPTN before the university enrollment date or should you apply PTPTN after you have registered at the university offered?
Actually, PTPTN application is opened in two batches, one before university enrollment date and one after it. This year, the university registration date is on September 3 or 4. You can apply PTPTN online before you enroll into the university from July til September or after your orientation week at local public university. The only difference is those applying before university enrollment date will be able to get the confirmation of offer of the loan earlier than the other batch.
How to Apply PTPTN
Typically you will need to buy a PIN code from Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and register yourself on PTPTN website. Fill in the online application form with all the necessary details and submit the form. Do take note that most of your details (which you filled during your IPTA application) will get automatically filled up in the PTPTN form, which saves you a lot of time. Wait for the application result which will usually be available a few weeks after the application closes.
You will need to submit the hard copies of your documents and certificates only after your orientation week at your university.
Read the official PTPTN website for application procedures.
