Biasiswa Shell Malaysia Scholarships - Local Undergraduate Scholarships
This is open to students who will be undertaking and currently in a full time first degree courses at any Public Universities and JPA approved international universities based in Malaysia.
We prefer candidates who are pursuing Geosciences, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil/Structural Engineering. However, candidates pursuing other engineering or sciences or non-technical (e.g. Finance or Human Resources) disciplines are also encouraged to apply.
We also strongly encourage person with disabilities to apply to our scholarship program.
*Students with physical disabilities (Orang Kurang Upaya) are not restricted in their choice and may apply to do a degree in any discipline.
Eligibility
- Strong leadership skills and active participation in extracurricular activities such as societies and clubs, sports, etc.
- Not presently holding other scholarship/loans.
- Disabled Identification Card certified by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (where applicable)
- Consistently strong academic achievements as follows:
- Minimum 3.0 CGPA or it’s equivalent at Pre University Level i.e. Diploma/STPM/IB, or 2As & 1B for A-Levels /Foundation.
Applications
Applications may be submitted based on the latest semester results (for Matriculation, Diploma ‘A’ Levels, Foundation, 1st degree students) or trial examination results (for STPM students).
Shell Malaysia reserves the right to verify the information provided. Shell Malaysia aims to reflect the diversity of the communities it works in and will award the scholarships on this basis.
How to Apply Shell Malaysia Local Scholarships?
Step 1 - Online Application
If your application is successful, you will receive an e-mail notification with instructions on how to complete the Ability Test within 1 week from your application date. If you do not receive any response form us by End Mid April, your application is considered unsuccessful.
The Ability Test will take approximately 12 minutes to complete and will not be timed. Once completed, you’ll receive an email notification with the outcome.
* NOTE: must be completed and submitted within 7 working days before the links within the e-mails you receive expire.
Step 3 - Phone Interview
Once you have submitted the online assessment, we will review the results before contacting you to discuss a potential interview. If you do not receive any response form us by End April, your application is considered unsuccessful.
The interview will take place over the telephone. This is an opportunity for you to tell us more about your motivations for applying, your achievements, the challenges you've faced and how you've demonstrated the qualities we're looking for.
Upon successfully passing your interview you could see yourself attending the Shell Scholarship Assessment, the final stage of the assessment process.
Step 4 – Shell Scholarship Assessment
Following success in the first-stage interview, you will attend an Assessed, interactive activities where you’ll be given further insights into our global businesses.
You will complete a range of assessed exercises which include a case study, group discussion, and final interview. If you do not receive any response from us by End May, your application is considered unsuccessful.
Step 5 - Offer
Upon successfully passing your assessment in the Shell Scholarship Assessment, we will select top best candidates based on the Shell Recruitment Review interview results.
If you do not receive any response from us by Mid June, your application is considered unsuccessful.
* NOTE: During the application and assessment process you will be assessed on the following CAR criteria :
Capacity - How well you absorb information, analyse problems, make fact-based decisions, and propose innovative solutions.
Achievement - How well you get things done (your drive, resilience, self-confidence, and organisational skills).
Relationships - How well you work in teams, communicate, and respect others.
