PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme (PESP) 2015
Since 1975 PETRONAS has awarded education sponsorships to more than 30,000 deserving students of high academic calibre, with an appetite for innovation and heart for the community.
PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme (PESP) is once again open to Malaysia’s most outstanding students to pursue undergraduates studies in oil and gas related fields. Eligible candidates will be shortlisted and interviewed prior to final selection.
Types of Petronas Scholarships
They are 3 type of sponsorship programmes currently being offered by PETRONAS:
- Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) – Sponsorships are available for Malaysian students to pursue degree courses in engineering and Information Technology at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP). Sponsorship will be granted based on merit that includes excellent SPM results.
PESP for UTP: Successful candidates are required to complete 1-year Foundation Programme prior to pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree Programme - Foreign Universities Sponsorship (including branch campuses in Malaysia) – PESP for overseas universities Students are required to complete up to 24 months of Pre-University Programme prior to pursuing the Bachelor’s Degree Programme.
- Malaysia University Sponsorship – Students who are studying in Malaysian public universities may also apply for sponsorship if they are pursuing undergraduate courses in Engineering, Applied Science, Accountancy, Economics and Information Technology.
Eligibility for sponsorship is based on merit that includes excellent Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) / Matriculation / Diploma results.
- Malaysian citizens aged between 17 – 19 years in 2015
- Possess strong leadership skills and active participation in extra-curricular activities.

- Application for PETRONAS Education Sponsorship Programme 2015 must be made online at educationsponsorship.petronas.com.my
- For UTP scholarship, it is compulsory to submit related UTP admission application at www.utp.edu.my
