YSD Environment Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies 2017
This scholarship is open for application throughout the year until further notice.

YSD Environment Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies 2017

Yayasan Sime Darby (YSD) began supporting the Reforestation and Rehabilitation of Orangutan Habitats in Northern Ulu Segama project since 2008, committing RM25 million over a period of 10 years.

A visit to Northern Ulu Segama (now known as the Bukit Piton Forest Reserve) in December 2016 revealed that the trees planted in 2008 under the project have not only been flourishing with healthy canopy growth but was also seen to harbour Orangutan nests.

Witnessing this, YSD chairman Tun Musa Hitam announced that a scholarship will be offered to a Malaysian student to pursue a postgraduate study in a local university on the effects of a rehabilitated forest on Orangutan populations in the area.

The postgraduate study could further strengthen knowledge to encourage conservation efforts in vulnerable but critical areas for endangered wildlife.

We would like to invite qualified Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree graduates to apply for the Yayasan Sime Darby Environment Scholarship for Postgraduate Studies 2017.

We are looking for well-rounded Malaysian candidates who have obtained excellent academic results, demonstrate outstanding leadership qualities and devote time to extra-curricular or volunteering activities.
